Greg Hughes is an Australian media artist, musician and design educator who works at the intersections of audiovisual production, data visualisation and science communication.

Hughes is particularly interested in how media can shape and reflect shared patterns between the environment and cultural practices, and conversely how the physical world performs as a medium. He has used this interest to create immersive installations and animations that often reference and amplify the physical trace of a medium or technique. 

In addition to exploring the role of media in society, Hughes is also passionate about using his work to inspire engagement with scientific methods and concepts by presenting quantitative data evocatively, where data can become immersive information and used to amplify the urgency to discuss important subjects.
